The button on our camera which is responsible for taking the picture has taken its own vacation.
We made the trek into Cancun to take it to Costco and hopefully exchange it for a new one. Heh heh heh, we crazy Americans.
Costco is sending it out to be repaired, but it may take a week (they said 5-6 days, but that might mean 2 weeks or so here in Mexico). In the meanwhile, I bought a Polaroid (digital) as the price was right and I wanted to try it out. It SUCKS. I really hate it. I can’t erase any of the pictures without connecting it to the computer; it only stores 9 pictures on a 16mb card (our Olympus stores 17 or so), the lens has no cover and the menu is really not logical. It did, however, allow us to take pictures of events that we would have had no record of. So I guess I should be appreciative with that.
We moved down to the other side of the park; the kids have lots more shade (we had NO shade, other than under the trailer and that provided by the awning where we were before) and new
scenery is also really nice. We are closer to Katie and Bruce and we are constantly fending off requests to go to Katie’s. All the kids LOVE Katie; she is so much more exciting than mom (even when she does the EXACT same things that mom does) and is quite simply, Much More Fun Than Mom or Dad Could Ever Hope to Become. We’re worried that the kids are bothering her, but she keeps inviting them over… With the move to the new spot, we also lost our Internet connectivity (except when Jamie stole a spot on someone’s router) so our emails and updates will be sporadic as we have to walk to our old spot and post from there. But we
can’t complain (well, *I* can’t) as I’m happy to simply have the ability to connect.
Katie and the boys (oh, I was there too) found a great little local cenote; salt water, but still MUCH cooler than the sea temperature. Speaking of temperatures, I was poking around weatherunderground and with the heat index (I’m assuming this means humidity) we’ve been hovering around 110F (44C). No wonder we’re so knackered.
No spell check; no time, so have fun with the errors and typos!
