So a funny thing happened on the way to San Miguel. We hit the playground to let the kids play with some gringo kids and explored a bit - enough to find a bookstore with books in ENGLISH and….tadummm…..THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE!!! The bookstore was expecting a new shipment the next day and we pre-paid for a book, headed back the next day and got our Harry Potter fix! Was this yesterday? I guess it was. Gee, time flies here.

Everyone is on the mend. We had blood and stool cultures done on Jamie and he is completely Town_076
lacking in any bugs whatsoever, but he is taking antibiotics neverless. We found that taking our anti-parasitic medicine on an empty stomach results in vomiting children, so we have remedied that situation.

The tour ends tomorrow and with it, our stay in Dolores. Everyone seems to be on the mend; I had a day of furious stomach cramps but figured it was due to taking the meds on an empty stomach. Today I’m much better. When I get back from the Internet cafe, we’ll hit some pottery factories (what, you thought we’d give them a miss this time? Just because we’ve been hit with parasites? You silly people. :)) and mentally prepare to head homewards.

We really love this little town; each Saturday we’ve been here there has been a wedding at the church (well, there are MANY churches here, but this is THE church; the church where the Grito was issued) and honestly, *you* have not lived until you’ve heard Mariachi music serenading a newlywed couple and their guests as they leave the church. Hauntingly beautiful.

I finished the Half Blood Prince Thursday night. I’ll be interested in hearing what the kids think about it.

I’m glad that everyone is on the mend. You are all very brave to challenge the “bugs” in a foreign country. I hope that there will be no after effects.

Gregg and I have been enjoying Le Tour, too. After seeing the results from the Time Trial and looking at the overall standings, we both believe that next year’s Tour will be interesting to watch since there will be a number of possible winners.

Love to you all. Hope to see you sometime in the near future.

…..”we’ll be heading home……” What does that mean? Where are you headed next? Just curious to learn what your plans are.
Sorry Jamie was sick on his birthday — we enjoyed the Tour — now what do I do every morning when I awaken?
    Hugs to the kids…..

    love,

    mom
