The boys have discovered Runescape and Jesse petitioned for a membership today. He and his brother have an interesting way of playing. Pike has his own account and sometimes the boys can play together (if I ever give up my laptop), but mainly Jesse sits, surrounded by the kids and plays with a devil-may-care attitude while Pike worries like a mother hen, trying to convince him to play with less risk. Sissy is starting to pick up on the game and loves sitting with the boys, looking for anything that might endear her to her favorite big brother. Ellen mainly tolerates the noise the game produces while bustling about, lost in her own world of make-believe.
The other day, the kids and I took a long trip on a long libre (MX15) into Maztalan. Pike had been increasingly bothered by a tooth coming in and I decided to have an x-ray done to see if there was a reason for his pain. It seemed to be getting worse, and while he is a very “emotional” child, it seemed to be more. So, off we headed to the dentist. It was a simple 2 hour trip to Maz and the dentist was very careful. He mainly treats older patients; lots of Canadians coming south for the winter, so he called a pediatric specialist and they decided a tooth must come out to make way for the tooth trying to come in. It was a wonderful experience and we’re seriously considering spending a week in Maz to have dental appointments.
The days seem to flow one to the other here at the beach. We’re camped between two shrimp farms. The “farmers” find that the ocean here is especially clean water, so they grow their little shrimpies and then trucks take them to estuaries where they live out their lives, getting fatter and fatter until they’re ripe for the sauteing. The stars are bright; the moon bright enough to throw shadows and the cities are very far away. You could spend months here without noticing.
I’m not sure what the plan is; I’m absolutely ITCHING to get to Oaxaca and spend long months absorbing, but patiently I wait; the boys are in heaven with the perfect bodysurfing waves, the ocean temperature is good, the sky is blue, the tortillas fresh and warm and life flows. Yoga has been a challenge lately; I have tried to practice for two days running and have yet to get out of standing. Ellen has been a challenge lately. Tomorrow, I will spend the majority of my energy ensuring a complete practice.

Thanks for your wonderful post (I’m not going to say anything like “It’s about d*mn time! We were parched up here in rainland!). Just beautiful. I’m so glad you are all having a positive experience. Give Pike a hug. I hope he’s doing much better. Kiss the girls and Jess too (and the big J while you are in the mood). I’m finally doing yoga again – my bursas have settled down so I’m giving it a crack again. Hope you are getting your practice too. Love, C
Did you know that knee bursitis is called “Housemaid’s Knee???” Now THERE’S a shocker. http://orthopedics.about.com/cs/patelladisorders/a/kneebursitis.htm
Your description of the beach sounds wonderful. I am so jealous of lazy days on the beach. Back at home and I’m back at work….well, at least trying to get in the swing of things. I’d much rather be soaking up some sun!
Peace, Vicki
BTW, I linked to you, hope that’s ok
