FruitThanks to Sam and Judie for their ideas for our friend, M. Right now, we really can’t think of anything other than getting him to Mexico and then finding a place to settle down and build a house for us and a little house for him. It is looking more like Jamie will fly to LA, pick up a truck, drive to him, move his stuff into our storage unit, help get him an ID or passport and birth certificate (if he doesn’t get that done by the time Jamie gets there), buy a vehicle for him and bring him to Mexico. The most excellent news is that the flight to LA is cheap enough; only $300 round trip from Mazatlan (but he’ll only use it one way) so that is a huge help.

Guess what was waiting for us in the bathroom last night? A frightening little creature; we knew that they existed in Celestino, and this guy must have hitched a ride in the kids clothes they left on the ground (and then dumped in the dirty laundry (which stays in the bathtub)). Here is a link, I don’t want to frighten anyone with the picture grab a drink first.

Jamie and I have been thinking about a stick house; the trailer is starting to get somewhat cramped, so M’s needs simply will accelerate the process…Still open to any and all ideas…

    Hi Kit -

I’ve been thinking a lot about M (whom you know we love, too.)

    Several thoughts:

    1. He has had experience with working in a bicycle shop (I think). Is there any possibility of his going back to that in the Bay Area or in Oregon (Oregon for the Burlee place)

    2. Many state and national parks are crying for workers. In many cases, they offer full hook-ups as well as some $ in return for not a lot of hard work.

Somehow I “cut the original message off” - so I’ll continue it here.

I realize M does not have a van/trailer, etc. But there might be a good deal on Class C’s or Class B’s. Actually, there were some fantastic buys on trailers in San Felipe when El Dorado made all their people whose casitas were built, to get the trailers, 5th wheelers and vans off the premises.

This would keep M in the States, and may not be what you had in mind.

I do know that lots of Americans have moved to Mexico and are gainfully employed there. M has such great people skills, I wonder if he might find some work in the American Colonys at places in MX.

Let us know what you decide, in the event we can help in some way.

    Love and good luck,

    Mom

Ugh! We’ve seen two scorpions inside since we’ve lived here. Not pleasant creatures.

I wish I had good ideas about your friend; I’m sorry I don’t. What a hard situation.
