To continue the saga, Jamie and Michael headed into Guanajuato and spoke with the tourist people. For future reference, if you have any trouble, go to the tourist information people; they are very interested in your happiness (at least in Guanajuato). They told their story, got a translator (courtesy of the tourist information people) and went from office to office to finally the “head” of the tourist people who personally knows the owner of the campground, Carlos Puente. She called him on his cell phone and counselled Jamie and Michael not to pay a thing. Carlos Puente should be out to talk to us later today (or tomorrow?) and smooth things over. The tourist people are VERY concerned that we were upset and troubled that we were threatened. I forgot to add (or maybe I did), the owner of the restaurant (now it is confusing because there appear to be two seperate restaurants here on the premesis) said, “how about I damage your TRAILER!!!” So the tourist people are very concerned that we are upset. They assured Jamie and Michael that the police had NOT been called, that they WOULD NOT be called and that the Florida guy was talking out of his ass.
So here we sit and wait and see what trouble Carlos Puente brings, but at the very least, we know the tourist people have our back. For future information, the head of the tourist people (I just got her card to verify) Licenciada Iliana Bernardino Cruz, the Director of Tourist Services, asked us to contact her today after we speak with Carlos Puente and report how things are going.

Kit, This is unbelievable —
OMG! I hope all turns out okay, and that you all get out of there in one piece.
I can only imagine how you felt, waiting for them to return (hoping they’d return!)
We hope the tourist people help you folks get out of there safely and in good shape.
Our thoughts, prayers and lots of love,
TaTa

Jamie and Michael are feeling amazingly positive and calm and fine here. I wish I’d gone with them so I could have heard what all the tourist people had to say. At any rate, we’ll be here for at least two more nights. We’ll see if Sr. Puente ever shows up.

Oh that sounds horrible. I hate confrontation and mean people. I think I would cry.
And then run them over with my trailer.

I thought the name of the town sounded familiar. I read another blog that recently mentioned that town in an unfavorable light.
