I just discovered your site today and read ALL the entries, me encanta todo!
I am planning my 6th trip this Oct. hopefully to Oaxaca, which I have never been to, but due to the unrest there now I may have to change my plans. If so, I will probably go back to some of the places that I have been before, which I loved. Your descriptions of Guanajuato, Zacatecas, Tepic, reminded me how how much I enjoyed those places.
One question, do you have any idea of how you contaced typhoid? I have considered getting a vaccine, but never have because I was always told the that contracting typhoid was VERY unlikely. I have had shots for Hep A and B and keep my diptheria/tetnus shots up to date.

I just found your blog. I'm loving it. Take a good look at the Canon Rebel. The problem with DLSR's is that the camera is the beginning. You will probably want another lens or two but they can come over time. And 8 MB images can eat up a HD fast. But the image quality is wonderful. The Canon especially handles lowlight/high ISO images very well.

Keep up the good blog. I'm going to be a regular reader of your families adventures.

oh, i loved the video! one of the best things i've ever done in mexico was attend the guelaguetza in oaxaca two summers ago. watching all-day regional dance with thousands of other delighted onlookers is pretty close to sublime. the dancers even throw their hallmark foods of the region into the audience after each performance--we left with a bag of sugarcane, a thoroughly chewed up sugarcane, but some were even enjoying the giant pinapples that landed in their midst. i'm so glad you had the chance to see some wonderful dancing, and glad that the kids enjoyed it, too.

"Jesse was in LOVE with the limelight. He bowed to all four corners at each applause (bringing more)..."
I've looked at all the pictures from the festival but can find NOT ONE of Jesse's performance. Please don't tell me you didn't get any of our thespian! For shame! For shame!
It sounded like a wonder-filled day, and I am so glad you all enjoyed it so much!
We will keep our fingers crossed for tomorrow morning (and the arrival of your computer.)
Hugs to all and thanks for the update!
love,
