day 6 001 Two-E is now a Tropical Storm (Barbara) and must be the cause of the issuing of water from the sky. Normally in the rainy season we get dumped on in the afternoon but the rest of the day is sunny. I think we’ve gone two days (that’s TWO DAYS, PEOPLE!!!) without sun. I know! I’m sitting down too, breathing into a paper bag just like you, cause I just can’t believe it either! But water from the sky or no water, the palaperos arrived yesterday, and while Days 1 through 5 dragged slowly and glacially through the hole digging, Day 6 was a beehive of activity. The back roof is gone (just in time for rain! Yeah!). The kitchen window is gone (though I should have known to put cardboard over our current tiles as the workers really don’t care and one was broken and a few others scratched). The tippy tippy top of the roof is gone. The holes were widened, the poles were straightened (with winches; an all day ordeal) and Filled In With Cement. And then the skies opened and poured down on the newly filled holes. It has rained all night long and I’ve been up since 4:30 worried about the holes. But we did finish with the back of the garden (we don’t want to do anything close to the palapa as it will be trashed by the workers) and cleaned up and planted in the front of the palapa. Course, you can’t see anything because Dino’s truck has water in his gas and it ain’t running so it sits smack dab in front of the house.

I’m really hoping that the palaperos cleaned up the cement they tracked over the floor tiles as I asked them. Please note the OSHA standard footwear they all use; either barefoot (climbing on the palapa) or plastic flipflops.

Gosh, i’m such an addict. It only took two consecutive posts from you to make me seriously dissappointed when another one didn’t show up this morning. What could you possibly be doing that is more important? I hope whatever it is isn’t hurricaine -related.

    Lots of love, C

People that wear flip flops to work are my kind of people.

    It’s lookin’ good!!

We are heading to the coast for almost 2 months in the coming days. We will have WiFi for the first month, then it might be more sporadic. If you come through Texas and want to go sailing, e-mail me or call (if you still have our cell #…if not let me know).
