Regrets

I really wish we’d taken out the 10 year permit for the trailer when the Aduana presented the opportunity on New Year’s Day this year (when we crossed the border).  Sigh.  We’re looking at possibly staying through the month of July now which means I need to get the van AND the trailer to Belize and get new permits.  If I’d gotten the 10 year permit I would only have to make it a day trip and pop down to Belize and back in a day.  Now we need to pack everyone and everything up and make it a few days trip.

But we’ve never stayed in Chetumal, only Bakalar, so that will be interesting.  Jamie popped the idea of staying through July on me yesterday when I got home from the grocery store but what with the birthday yesterday and all we never got around to talking.  Apparently he’s been rallying the kids behind my back (we’ve been in the same place for FOUR FREAKING MONTHS) and they have a united front.  So I guess we’ll be here through July.  Sigh.  But maybe not.  We’ll see what happens with the permits.  Maybe I can bribe the Aduana NOT to renew the permits.  Now that would be sneaky, eh?

Did you look into the Puerto Juarez option? If you need more info I can email our friends who got their car renewed there, I don’t think you met Sandy who lives across the street in the blue apartments?

Of course, Belize would at least be traveling somewhere new… :)

As for Chetumal, the one RV park is beautiful, pretty expensive and has wifi. It’s actually in Calderitas and right on the bay, pool, etc.
