Summer envy

December 22nd, 2007 · No Comments

Now I know why people love summer so much here. Well, I knew before, but it is abundantly clear now. All the winter people come and have oodles of work done. We have (alternately) a chainsaw going one palapa over, varnish blowing in the wind, hammers and chainsaw going at the palapa across the street. And when those jobs finally finish, the palapa NEXT to us will have work done.

To contrast that, one sweet memory from last night. We were sitting on roughly finished concrete (glad I was wearing jeans) and I had a boy cuddled up against me on both sides. Yes, the 13.5yo and the 11.5yo were cuddled up, my arms around each one, even though they were bored and wanting to leave. And if I could have asked for a Solstice present, I could not have imagined a better one.

(yes, I do believe it IS a sign of the apocalypse; I’ve posted in succession)

Sissy and Ellen are both up and eating; Jamie is down. Sigh. I am getting SO SICK of someone being sick!
