Hi Kit! I've neglected your blog so much this week. The pics of the neighbor boy (I assume) with the puppies are just adorable. I also like the little brown one. Maybe you can paint it black and fool Elleny? For a little while? Catie is continuing her quest for a kitten. She brought a bunch of school work home last week and everything is kitten-related. I've caved, but we're still working on daddy. Love to all of you. C

My recommendation (having been owned by 8 cats (one, Max, now with us) and 1 dog (Indy, also with us) is to get the dog first. I think cats adjust better to a dog if it's already there (dogs seem to have no problem adjusting to kittens.) We used to have Maya cat along as well, but lost her to a mountain lion in Colorado in our second year on the road. (We do keep a close eye out for coyotes as well, as they love cats - for lunch, that is.)

Max and Indy are great friends, and good companions when they get to hang out in the trailer when we do day-trips to place which don't welcome pets.

Good luck with your choices.

Mmmm. I can smell them from here.

Never fear, I am a weak, hopeless creature and have started back with my coffee addiction. Mornings were just not the same with a cup of hot green tea....bleck.

Maybe we will see you in Utah or somewhere in that area if I can get Bill to commit to a date....can't pin the man down!

Hey! We finally got to try those beans you gave us - I gave half of them to SnowyCo. You are right, that is some well roasted, excellent java. When we get back over to the coast I want to go with you to the secret spot.
