it’s a complicated system

It’s a good thing that Earth Hour starts after Prarie Home ends because Saturday would not be Saturday without our weekly dosage of Prarie Home Companion. We’re planning on heading to Jan Ten for a bonfire, fireworks and moonmallows.
I’m out of bed (and thus the posting will cease) after too many days of declining [...]

In for a penny, in for a pound

Annie tagged me and for once I’ll do it.
What Was I Doing 10 Years Ago? Let’s see…2008-10 would be 1998.  Jesse was 4, Pike was 2 and Sissy was yet to come.  I was probably pestering Jamie about having Sissy.  I would have been working, so working part-time and pestering Jamie about having unprotected sex.  [...]

Why does my neck squeak when I turn it?

March 20th, 2008 · 2 Comments

We got up at the asscrack of dawn (EIGHT AM for the family, I’ve begun a cycle of insomnia and was up before five) and headed out to Cobá and Tulum ruins and then to Tulum beach to show the relatives the historical side of Quintana Roo. It only took us two hours to [...]

that which does not kill you can only make you stronger

March 18th, 2008 · 4 Comments

Chrissy must have this as her mantra.  We didn’t kill her by sticking her kids on a sidewalk while waiting for the car to be fixed.  We didn’t kill her by putting her on a ferry that used hydroplaning as a method to park big rigs.  We didn’t kill her by feeding her rotten chicken.  [...]

A funny thing happened on the way to pick up my sister. Backing up, a funny thing happened with my monthly cycle which is neither funny nor a thing, but after numerous ultrasounds and blood tests we’re going to try hormones and then maybe a biopsy of the uterus. But as usual, I’m [...]
