Life keeps getting in the way of our vacation

Or maybe we’re vacationing on Mexican time.  For some weird reason we’ve got 2 days (counting today!) left and still have a LONG list of stuff to get done.  Some stuff quite simply will Not get done.  Never even got to the storage unit, let alone cleaning it out.  I think we were too lazy during the days we were here and only got busy the last few days.  And even though we’ve been to 3 different thrift stores numerous times, I still can’t find any sandals for Ellen.  And I refuse to pay full retail price.  Anything over $2 is just too much for me.  :)

Jamie and I have been regularly exercising and the last week my sister and BIL began joining us.  I am so impressed with my sister – she really just jumped right into our exercise routine and excelled at it!  Today it was FORTY FIVE DEGREES FAHRENHEIT, however, and I think I might have died and am now just a ghost typing away.  I had heavy gloves, a wool hat, tights, windpants, shirt, polypro turtleneck and windbreaker.  I was STILL cold.  Jamie was in shorts and a short-sleeved shirt.  He got warm on the way back when the rain started.  There were ICICLES hanging from my ears and he stripped off his jacket.  There is something wrong with that man.

Our amazing neighbors have been dealing with our van trying to get it fixed so we can journey from the Cancun airport direct to Merida to close on the house.  Apparently the van is fixed – we don’t know what the problem was or whether it really is fixed or not.  For now, we’re tenatively planning on driving to Merida immediately after landing in Cancun so we can close on the house Thursday.

So, we only need to:

1) activate Natalie’s phone and purchase battery (Jamie is supposed to be doing this now).
2) finish buying the last of the art supplies (sketch pads, watercolor pads, clay?, watercolor brushes, art tissue paper, watercolor crayons, colored pencils)
3) decide if I’m buying RAM for the computers and get it (Frys?)
4) get mule stuff for Jonna
5) order checks for Merida house
6) call CFE to verify electric bill is paid
7) return library materials
8) buy more luggage buy even MORE luggage
9) try One More Time to find sandals for Ellen (found some at Tarjay! buy them tomorrow)
10) return defective HD (try downloading and running Fujitsu utility first)
11) return LCDs (finish packing and label them for PO dropoff)
12) pay Target CC and never listen to Jamie again when he tells me to sign up with them
13) buy progesterone cream (Williams Natural Foods in Richmond)
14) get CC for kids Xmas gift
15) get fiber pills at Costco
16) shit, still MORE stuff to do???
17) get K&N filter from AutoZone
18) get yarn for kids Xmas
19) get ink for Xmas gift
20) get calig stuff
21) get  book for Chris to scan and email
22) print airline tix and try to get us on an earlier flight
23) go through all the ordered stuff and make sure it came
24) get Sissy Xmas gift
25) return/reject defective book

Man, we could use another week here…

I hope our package came to you! It was supposed to arrive on Friday. Cold at 45? It is 1 degree and dropping right now. Tomorrow it is supposed to be -13 degrees — yes, negative thirteen degrees. That is like a crazy, crazy kind of cold. And even if they cancel school – we are also supposed to have severe ice and snow – I still have two ortho appts that the older boys have to get to. Yikes. I took Olive out tonight for her late night potty and she couldn’t figure out where to go – it snowed so much since the last time we were out all her familiar smells were gone and she just didn’t know what to do. I finally convinced her to do her business and by the time we got back inside she was a white dog! I had to dry her off and warm her up – poor pup! She’s warm and cozy now. I hope you all had a great trip and can’t wait to start to see pics of the place in Merida.

We got it! Thanks so much! I really can’t understand the numbers you’re typing there – just does not compute. :) Poor little Olive. I think she needs a Mexican vacation!

I know the numbers are bad. And it will get worse this week. This morning Olive wised up and did her business in record time and ran back up the stairs to get inside. Smart puppy. We are working on our dates for the spring trip idea. Unfortunately our spring break is the week before Chrissy and family will arrive – but maybe that is good? We could come out for a few alone time days and then stay for a few days with them there. I’ll let you know when we get it more figured out.

Don’t worry about my stuff unless you have to go to CostCo anyway. I can imagine how easy it would be to let time run off on you. I’m impressed that you guys are exercising in the cold. That is true devotion. We are back in Akumal, when do you return to Paamul? We are here until the 23rd and then return to Merida.
