Here we go…

Theresa made me do it…bold I’ve done, italics I want to do…

1. Started my own blog
2. Slept under the stars
3. Played in a band (I’m pretty sure I did, but it is also entirely possible I didn’t)
4. Visited Hawaii
5. Watched a meteor shower (I hope the aurora comes up cause we’ve watched them walking down the middle of the road, blissed out on aurora somewhere in the wilds of Alaska)
6. Given more than I can afford to charity (considering we have kids, this is a good thing, I think, but how also, how sad we haven’t done it)
7. Been to Disneyland/world (once even pregnant!)
8. Climbed a mountain
9. Held a praying mantis (No, but at least one of my kids have and I’ve seen them frequently in the backyard/jungle)
10. Sung a solo
11. Bungee jumped
12. Visited Paris
13. Watched lightning at sea (one of these days I’ll get a picture)
14. Taught myself an art from scratch
15. Adopted a child (I could SO see us doing this though…)
16. Had food poisoning (doesn’t EVERYONE get this at some point? I think I’ve even poisoned my own family, though the first time for me was at my boyfriend’s house after almost breaking my ankle)
17. Walked to the top of the Statue of Liberty
18. Grown my own vegetables (When we lived in the US our front yard was a veggie and flower garden)
19. Seen the Mona Lisa in France
20. Slept on an overnight train
21. Had a pillow fight
22. Hitchhiked
23. Taken a sick day when you’re not ill
24. Built a snow fort
25. Held a lamb
26. Gone skinny dipping
27. Run a Marathon (I’ve done a 1/2 though. My sister has done a full)
28. Ridden in a gondola in Venice
29. Seen a total eclipse (both the sun and the moon and both in Mexico)
30. Watched a sunrise or sunset
31. Hit a home run
32. Been on a cruise
33. Seen Niagara Falls in person
34. Visited the birthplace of my ancestors
35. Seen an Amish community
36. Taught myself a new language
37. Had enough money to be truly satisfied (though I think there are many who wouldn’t have been :) )

39. Gone rock climbing (who doesn’t climb rocks?)

43. Bought a stranger a meal at a restaurant

50. Been to the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris (what’s with the French appeal here?)

54. Gone to a drive-in theater (I seem to remember The Godfather in the back of our Rambler when we kids were supposed to be sleeping)

58. Taken a martial arts class(I’d really like to get the boys involved also)

61. Sold Girl Scout Cookies (I know I bought them, but it might have been one of my sisters that actually sold them)

69. Saved a favorite childhood toy (Jamie has boxes and boxes at his mom’s house, though)

72. Pieced a quilt (my sister has made some gorgeous ones though)

76. Seen the Changing of the Guards in London (well, I”m pretty sure – seen them at any rate)

78. Been on a speeding motorcycle (well, on the BACK of one)

82. Bought a brand new car (Saturn, back in the early 90’s)

84. Had my picture in the newspaper (I honestly have NO idea about this one)

87. Killed and prepared an animal for eating (I have no desire but I think everyone should do this at least once. Mine was just a fish, but still..)

  • Wow, I put no on #87 (killed and eaten and animal) because I didn’t even think of fish. Mostly because I don’t like to eat fish, regardless of who killed ‘em. I have eaten animals that we raised for food, just never “processed” them myself. Yup, that’s what the 4 H kids used to call it processing them for food.
    I hope your Christmas funk has evaporated by now.
