Bright and early the palaperos began the process to move our trailer. We’ve been living in the trailer and palapa in a state of “ready to leave any time” but we’ve recently decided to make the trailer permanent. That means leveling it out, taking off the tires, bumper, spare tire, leveling the trailer to the height of the palapa deck and moving it over to the deck. Up until now, we’ve had a temporary “bridge” we’ve been using to get from the palapa to the trailer – just something we got used to until it was normal. Today the palaperos are moving posts and the slide is in. The SLIDE IS IN. Our trailer is Very Narrow with the slide in. We’re thinking seriously about taking off the grey and black tanks so no more dumping either. Jamie’s not quite sure about that though, thinking we might be inviting roachs into the trailer once the black is connected. And since we’ve been roach-free for quite a while, I’m not looking forward to having to check the toilet carefully before using it.
I ran my first back-to-back days today. I’ve never run 2 days in a row as my knees used to not be able to handle the stress. We’ll see how the week pans out, but so far I’m good. I have a 4 mile planned yesterday (done), 2 miles today (done), 4 miles on Thursday and 5-6 on Sunday. I’ve also been scouring the calendars trying to find a race. I just might make Guatemala my first marathon (assuming I can handle the training) but for now, I’m just looking at a half.
Keep Haiti in your thoughts today – they suffered a horrific natural disaster season in 2008 and while 2009 was better, they were hammered today with a 7.0 earthquake. If you can afford to help, the Lambi fund is highly regarded and does excellent work.

Thanks so much for the Lambi Fund recommendation. I was planning to email you for an idea of a organization that is on the ground and reputable. Love to all of you, Christina
Sounds like a “Park Model!” We have one of those, wheels off an all – no roaches, too
