It got so cold tonight that we headed out in the car, cranked up the heat and blissed in the heavenly warmth issuing from the mighty diesel engine. It was actually quite stinky but I was happy to trade stinky for warm.
I don’t know what has happened to our heat. We had it . . . → Read More: living la vida banana

I stole some quiet moments this morning stolen from the laundry stolen from the study stolen from the dishes. The dishes did not complain – they wait in silence. My coffee accompanied me to the beach (never steal time from coffee) and we sat and watched the slow roll of waves and the sand . . . → Read More: stolen moments

Oh man. We need a vacation from our vacation. It has been a crazy (for us) couple of weeks and I have absolutely NO IDEA where to start. So I’ll bulletpoint.
I took 2-3 weeks off diet and exercise (I honestly have no idea how long) and only gained 2 kilos. So yesterday, when i found I could put a shoe on my burned foot (oops, did I forget to post about that? I was making coffee one morning and managed to spill an entire pot full of boiling water on one leg and one foot – since I had pants on (baby it is COLD outside (but I’m getting ahead of myself) it trapped the heat and the burns were pretty bad. If I could remember when I burned myself you’d be all “OOH! that MUST have been bad because it is taking a LONG TIME to heal” but since I have no clue when it happened – 2 weeks? who knows…all I can say is that I was unable to walk/exercise and actually had a few days where I couldn’t let anything touch it – night was especially bad as i couldn’t tolerate a sheet touching. Anyway, nuff said.) I got off my ever expanding duff and went for a walk. Coincidentaly, the temperature that day decided to drop like a stone and I’m sitting here in jeans and a sweatshirt and running out like a lizard ocassionally to heat up with direct sun. Oh, the sun came back 2 days ago also! Ummm…where was I? Continue reading Back in the saddle again…

I think I fried the CPU on my laptop. It has been running hot for a while and I’d hoped I could stay its death sentence with Arctic Silver, but alas, it seems to have died an honorable death. I have frequently backed up the files and programs and I’m hoping I’ll be able . . . → Read More: Aaaack

After a week of being rudder-less, I had a good talk with the doctor and am going to try a week of the Nimotop and see what happens. He treats a LOT of divers and has had good success with this medicine so I’m going to go with it. Making that decision and talking . . . → Read More: Found the rudder

I have lots of excuses; I’ve been trying to get all kinds of “stuff” to Natalie’s sister so she can bring it down to us (mostly books), I’ve been trying to figure out what other materials I want to get (we’re finishing up World History and moving on to Ancient Cultures), obsessively checking the . . . → Read More: yeah, it’s been a little quiet lately

POTENTIAL
energy in motion is kinetic
energy that’s waiting is potential

Jamie and I would like to let everyone know we are All Right. We didn’t suffer too greatly, we are recovering and have plans to avoid future confrontations. What do you mean, WHAT? It didn’t make the presses? It didn’t make international news? What news sources are you guys reading anyway?

So I woke up at 5:30 (OMG, Jonna just keeled over. Sorry, I should have warned you, Jonna – next time I’ll put a warning, “SHOCKING AND FRIGHTENING WORDS FOLLOW”) in the fraking A.M. and tossed and turned for an hour before giving in and getting up. I woke nauseous and worried that I . . . → Read More: Confusion in the delirium
